The Kamen Rider franchise’s Ride Kamens smartphone game will launch in late May.

The new smartphone game by Liber Entertainment called Ride Kamens, which is based on the Kamen Rider series, will launch in late May, according to the game’s official website, which made the announcement on Thursday.

The “training adventure” game can be played for free with the opportunity to buy in-game items.

On Thursday, the official YouTube account for the game published a 20-minute voice drama titled “episode zero”. On the game’s website, you can also read the original novella in Japanese, which served as the basis for the voice drama.

The original main character designs for the game are being drafted by Hiroko Utsumi (director of Sk8 the Infinity, Free! – Iwatobi Swim Club, Banana Fish, and original designer of Bucchigiri?!). The world-building and main scenario are handled by Yūya Takahashi (series composition and scripts for Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible, Laughing Under the Clouds, script for Lupin the IIIrd: Jigen’s Gravestone), while Naomi Takebe of Toei (Kamen Rider Agito, Kamen Rider Blade, Kamen Rider the First producer) oversees and produces the world-building. The game is being developed by Liber Entertainment (A3!, I☆CHU), while Bandai is in charge of the logistics and administration. Working together on the original idea are Ishimori Production and Toei, who have produced the live-action TV shows and movies in the franchise.

Nigao City, where nature and civilization coexist peacefully, serves as the setting for the story. An malevolent covert organization known as “Chaosism” is at work in this city. The protagonist discovers one day that there are “Kamen Riders” who, as a result of “Chaosism’s” bodily alteration, have lost their true memories. The player, who plays the main character, inherits their late father’s position as a support “agent” for the Kamen Riders and becomes entangled in the struggle to salvage their memories and alter “destiny.” There are sixteen Kamen Riders in the game, all of varying ages and professions.

Amatsuki will be playing the opening theme music, “Get Back!!,” and Stereotype Inc. and OLM TEAM KATO will be making the transformation animation.
